Career Training Program
In partnership with Monroe Community College, Mahany offers a 360 hour training program designed to prepare individuals for a career in the metal fabrication industry. This 20 week program meets 3 days per week for 6 hours a day. Students are exposed to a variety of modern welding processes, including Stick welding, MIG, TIG, Plasma, and Oxy/fuel. Extensive time is spent in the shop learning the use of fabrication tools such as ironworker, chop saw, angle grinders, mag drill, and others. As a requirement of graduation, students must pass a minimum of 6 qualification tests. Past graduates have obtained well paying, satisfying jobs in sheet metal fabrication, structural steel, (manufacturing, and other industries. Qualified welder/fabricators are in high demand. We continuously survey local businesses to find out what skills and attributes are important to them, and that is what we train for. In just 5 months and a small financial investment, you can prepare yourself for a successful career in the metal trades.
