Welding & Fabrication Certification Program

Welders are in demand in countless industries. Decades of few new workers entering the trades have left vocations like welding with an aging workforce and shortage of qualified people. Mahany Welding Supply and Rochester Arc and Flame have partnered with Monroe Community College to offer a Certificate program to help Rochester area workers get the relevant training they need to get jobs in the exciting and rewarding field of welding.

The Monroe Community College “Welding & Fabrication Certificate Program” held at RocAFC is an intensive, comprehensive vocational training program. We meet six hours per day, three days per week, for twenty weeks. Our students do not just learn how to weld: They become well rounded Welder/Fabricators who can read blueprints, cut/drill/prep metal, weld, and metal finish. The Director of Welding and Executive Director meet each candidate personally to discuss the rigor of the program and to make sure that candidates know what will be expected of them during the program.

To maximize our student’s job offers, we assist in resume writing, employer research techniques, and mock job interviews. To date, our graduates have been hired by over 15 different Rochester area employers.

Total cost of the program includes all classroom materials, all training, shop materials, materials for 6 Qualification Tests, and the student personal safety duffel bag. This bag includes over $500 worth of safety gear and shop tools that the student will not only use for the program, but can take to the job as well. The total cost of the program is $6,500.00
